About the series: "IF I RECOVER is series exploring the concept of recovery and comparing it to a journey through a forest. More specifically at the time this series was created I was recovering from a year of depression. The journey to get to better place in my life was not easy and it felt like I was trying to get out of a large forest that I’ve been lost in. Using large format negatives I chose to use myself as a model and allowed myself to be photographed in a vulnerable state. I altered many of the negatives by shredding them or simply wetting them to represent my own mental wounds. With the imagery created a narrative with the first image being the beginning of this journey and the final image being the end."
